OREANDA-NEWS  The Korean company SI Imaging Services will offer a service for renting out its own satellite. This is reported by the publication SpaceNews.

"Think of it as [an Airbnb rental service] for remote sensing satellites," said Eugene Kim, executive vice president of the Satrec Initiative (parent company of SI Imaging Services).

Control over the control of the 650-kilogram Space Eye-T satellite, capable of taking pictures with a resolution of 25 centimeters per pixel, involves the use of an encrypted communication channel, which will avoid leaks of sensitive information. The first customer will be able to rent the spacecraft in October.

In March 2022, the publication reported that SI Imaging Services refused to share its own satellite images with the government of Ukraine.
