OREANDA-NEWS  Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 75 Ukrainian UAVs overnight, including 45 over the Krasnodar Territory, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"During the past night, from 23.00 Moscow time on January 20 to 7.00 Moscow time on January 21, 75 Ukrainian aircraft—type unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by air defense systems on duty," the report says.

The fighters shot down 45 drones in the Krasnodar Territory, nine in the Orel region, seven over the Black Sea, three each in the Rostov Region and Crimea, two each in the Astrakhan, Bryansk and Kursk regions, one each in the Voronezh Region and over the Sea of Azov.

Earlier, the head of Adygea, Murat Kumpilov, said that as a result of the arrival of the UAV in Murat Kumpilov, a fire started, which affected an apartment building and a parking lot. 15 cars burned down, 25 more were damaged.

The wreckage of drones was found in two settlements of the Seversky district of the Krasnodar Territory, there were no casualties. The wreckage of a UAV, including a warhead, fell near an apartment building in Afipskoye in the Kuban, residents were evacuated. A fire started at the local refinery, which was promptly eliminated.

In response to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on civilian targets, Russian troops regularly strike at locations of personnel, equipment and mercenaries, as well as at Ukraine's infrastructure used to ensure the work of the military-industrial complex: energy, defense industry, military administration and communications facilities. At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly stressed that the army does not strike residential buildings and social institutions.
