OREANDA-NEWS  The decline in prices for new buildings in Russia was explained by the struggle of developers for buyers. This opinion was shared by Konstantin Aprelev, founder of the Russian Guild of Realtors, in an interview with the Moscow Says radio station.

According to the expert, this trend appeared on the market back in 2025.

"In the first quarter of this year, sales decreased by 30 percent. In order to maintain volumes and fulfill financial plans, developers are forced to adjust prices in the struggle for a potential buyer," explained Aprelev.

Earlier it became known that new buildings in Moscow fell in price by an average of 2.2 percent, to 578 thousand rubles per square meter. Experts attribute this trend to a decrease in the number of transactions in the elite segment, as well as an increase in the proportion of mortgage lenders who choose the cheapest real estate options. Some experts considered such changes to be a statistical error.
