OREANDA-NEWS  Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, said that he was disappointed in French President Emmanuel Macron not because of the lack of competition in the country in the fields of politics and business. He made this statement in an interview with Le Point.

"Prosperity comes from competition between ideas, companies, and politicians. And today in France it is not encouraged. The country is losing its competitiveness," the entrepreneur noted.

Durov added that he initially had high hopes for Macron, but now believes that the French leader is pursuing the wrong policy, as a result of which France is "becoming weaker." The entrepreneur stressed that he was "very disappointed" in him.

Earlier, Durov criticized US President Donald Trump in an interview, saying that blocking the American leader's accounts on social networks was a mistake.
