OREANDA-NEWS  The current government in Ankara will not allow the West to drag the country into a war against Russia, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with the Ahaber channel.

"We will not allow our country to be dragged into a war — this is one of our election slogans," Erdogan said.
According to him, Ankara's efforts over the past two years have prevented the "Western club" from dragging the country into the conflict. "While we are here, we will not contribute to this. Our intention is to make efforts with serious determination and play the role of mediator between Russia and Ukraine so that they eventually succeed," the Turkish leader stressed. Presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey are scheduled for May 14.
