OREANDA-NEWS Cargo traffic between Finland and Russia may almost completely stop on November 18, said Olli-Pekka Penttila, head of the statistics department of the Finnish customs. He is quoted by RIA Novosti.

At the same time, freight trains will still be able to pass through the railway checkpoint on the Russian border - Vainikkala. The representative of the customs called for redirecting goods going by road through Russia in transit.

Earlier, the Finnish Cabinet of Ministers decided to close four border crossings on the border with Russia until February 18 due to the deterioration of the migration situation. We are talking about the checkpoints of Vaalimaa, Nuiyamaa, Imatra and Niirala.
