OREANDA-NEWS The Finnish Defense Forces will start training conscripts to use interceptor drones next year. This was reported by the inspector of the air defense forces Mano-Mikael Nokelainen to the Ruotuväki newspaper.

"In the fall, we will test the use of combat drones with army personnel, and next year we will begin training conscripts," the inspector explained.

Interceptor drones will be used in the staff of a new unit of the Finnish Defense Forces, which is being created to counter enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) violating the country's airspace.

Earlier, Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hyakkanen said that the country should always be ready to shoot down drones that mistakenly flew into its airspace. According to him, in this case, Ukrainian UAVs are no exception, and they must be "safely neutralized with the use of military force."
