OREANDA-NEWS  The idea of launching a preemptive strike by the North Atlantic Alliance against Russia is insane, and such plans cannot be "defensive." This was stated by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, on his social network account.

"WAR AND MADNESS! The famous "defensive alliance" justifies the transition to the "offensive.".. Only a far-fetched or completely made-up pretext is enough to start a war! For example, sabotage on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. A Russian conspiracy, isn't it?… So much for a "preemptive strike"!" the politician was indignant.

Philippot stressed that NATO "should have disappeared in 1991 along with the cold war," but now the bloc constantly has to justify its existence by creating enemies and unleashing wars. Therefore, he called on France to withdraw from the alliance as soon as possible.

Earlier, the head of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, said that the alliance was considering preemptive strikes in response to Russia's alleged aggressive actions. He added that the military bloc could consider pre-emptive strikes as "defensive actions."
