OREANDA-NEWS  About 80-100 thousand civilians remain in Kherson, the mayor of the city Alexander Kobets said.

"The evacuation continues today. According to our calculations, around 80-100 thousand people remain in the city of Kherson. These are the people who pulled up here from other neighborhoods and cities," Kobets said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

As the commander of the United Group of Russian Troops Sergei Surovikin stated earlier, Russian troops will take up defense in the Kherson direction along the left bank of the Dnieper.

He reported to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that Kherson and adjacent settlements cannot be fully supplied and function, people's lives are constantly in danger. As of November 9, everyone in the Kherson region, which is more than 115 thousand people, left the area of hostilities.
