OREANDA-NEWS Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said during the Qatar Economic Forum that the country's accession to anti-Russian economic sanctions would cause significant damage to Georgia's national interests and destroy its economy. According to him, the trade turnover between Russia and Georgia in one year is about one billion dollars. He clarified that the countries that are part of the European Union achieve such an indicator in trade with the Russian Federation in a few days.

He clarified that after the conflict that occurred in 2008, Western countries did not impose sanctions against Russia and continued to conduct economic relations with it.

"If Georgia joins the anti-Russian sanctions, our country's economy will be destroyed. Among other things, Georgia's national interests will be seriously damaged," Garibashvili added.
