OREANDA-NEWS Germany will transfer to Ukraine a batch of PAC-2 missiles, which are used in Patriot air defense systems. This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, RIA Novosti reports.
"I have made a decision... to transfer to Ukraine urgently needed PAC-2 interceptor missiles from the reserves of the Bundeswehr," Pistorius said.
According to him, Germany will also additionally ensure the purchase of several tens of thousands of long-range artillery shells through a British-led consortium. The purchased shells will then be transferred to Kiev.
Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev said that Moscow would switch to a different format of conversation if Berlin decided to supply Ukraine with long-range Taurus cruise missiles.
