OREANDA-NEWS  Ghana will be able to supply the volume of its cocoa needed by the Russian market regardless of the decline in production this season, said John Agri, head of the Ghana-Russia Trade and Relations Center.

Bloomberg news agency, citing data from the official exporter and seller of Ghanaian cocoa, Cocoa Marketing Company Ghana Ltd, reported in early September that cocoa production in Ghana could decrease by more than a third in the 2026-2027 season due to adverse weather and diseases of cocoa trees.

"I know that part of the cocoa supplies to the Russian Federation come from Ghana, because we have the highest quality. There is no need to worry, we are in control of the situation. Russia and Russian importers can be sure that Ghana can supply the required volume," Agri told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the II Global Digital Forum, answering a question about the consequences for the Russian market from a reduction in harvest.
