OREANDA-NEWS  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told French President Emmanuel Macron that recognizing Palestine as a state would be "a victory for Hamas and Iran." The conversation between the leaders took place over the phone, according to Politico.

According to Netanyahu, a Palestinian state created a few minutes from Israeli cities will become an Iranian springboard for terrorism.

As noted, Macron had previously stated that France could recognize a Palestinian state in the coming months.

On March 25, the Palestinian Ambassador to Russia, Abdel Hafiz Nofal, announced that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas would arrive in Moscow on May 9 to participate in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
