OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian Armed Forces have begun fighting on a new sector of the front in the Sumy region in northern Ukraine. This was stated by retired Lieutenant Colonel of the People's Militia of the Luhansk People's Republic (NM LNR) Andrei Marochko, reports TASS.

According to him, this is indicated by the capture of Komarovka by Russian military personnel. Marochko added that a buffer zone has already begun to form in this sector of the front, east of the city of Glukhov.

"[The capture of Komarovka] indicates that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have opened a new sector of the front. The fact is that this area has been static for a very long time. Basically, our troops were at the junction of the border of the Russian Federation and the Sumy region, that is, they did not move forward," the agency's interlocutor explained.

The capture of Komarovka by the Russian army became known on January 14. The information about this was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense.
