OREANDA-NEWSThe Kremlin hopes that Turkey will adhere to the postulate of the territorial integrity of Syria, said spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov. So he commented on the statements of the Turkish side about the start of the military operation in Syria, the correspondent of the Russian media reports.

Peskov noted that at the same time, the Kremlin allows Turkey’s actions aimed at ensuring security and the fight against terrorists hiding in Syria. According to the spokesperson, Russian and Turkish leaders have not yet communicated on the offensive. “Although countries agree on common issues on different lines”, said Peskov.

Answering a question about the US refusal to take part in Ankara’s military operation, Peskov recalled the words of Putin, who said that in general, all foreign forces located in Syria should be illegitimate to leave the country. When asked whether it's necessary to seek dialogue with the Kurds, the spokesman noted that "actions that impede the Syrian settlement must be avoided". This can complicate and destabilize the situation in this region.
