OREANDA-NEWS At the moment, there is no direct threat from Russia. This was stated by the chief adviser to the President of Lithuania on national security issues, Deivydas Matulionis, his words are reported by the Delfi news portal in the Telegram channel.
"The level of direct threat has not changed — that is, we do not see a direct threat," he said.
Earlier, Deivydas Matulionis said that NATO countries would deploy additional military forces in Lithuania in the event of a critical security situation in the region. He stressed that such a "critical situation" could arise in the coming months, allegedly due to provocations by the Russian side in the Baltic States. However, the politician ruled out the possibility that Russia is preparing to invade the territory of one of the NATO member states.
