OREANDA-NEWS. French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has a secret plan to withdraw the country from the European Union and create a "right-wing alliance" with Poland and Hungary, current head of state Emmanuel Macron said during a speech to voters in Strasbourg. His words are quoted by the Daily Mail.

“She wants to take France out of the EU, but she doesn’t dare to say so, which is not good,” Macron said in an attempt to assess his opponent’s foreign policy.

French voters are too loyal to Europe to accept the so-called Frexit [similar to Brexit], so Le Pen could attack the bloc from within after joining forces with the populist governments of Poland and Hungary, Macron added.

“The EU has changed the life of this country,” he concluded, accusing Le Pen that her plans do not stand up to scrutiny.

On April 10, the first round of presidential elections took place in France. Marine Le Pen and current French President Emmanuel Macron entered the second round, which will take place on April 24.

Turnout in the French elections was about 73%, according to BFMTV.
