OREANDA-NEWS  The trial of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores, who was captured by the United States, will begin on June 1, 2027. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the decision of the New York court.

"The first of June, 2027," Judge Alvin Gellerstein said during the hearing.

Earlier, the Miami prosecutor's office was instructed to prepare new charges against Nicolas Maduro due to concerns that the current case does not have sufficient grounds.

The Venezuelan president was detained by US law enforcement officers during a military operation in the Latin American country. During the operation carried out on Saturday, January 3, the US military attacked strategically important facilities located both in Caracas and in other regions of the country.
