OREANDA-NEWS  The Hungarian parliament will begin the procedure of removing the President of the republic Tamas Shujok from office if he does not sign the bill on the 17th amendment to the constitution of the country, providing for his resignation. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar on his Facebook account (a social network banned in Russia; owned by Meta Corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned).

"If Shujok does not sign the amendment within five days, which will be adopted today, then the National Assembly (unicameral Parliament of Hungary — approx. "The tapes.ru") initiates the procedure for removing him from office. After that (...) The President of the republic will no longer be able to exercise his powers, and the chairman of the National Assembly will be able to sign the law instead," he threatened.

On June 27, Magyar, based on a survey conducted on the government's website, stated that the majority of Hungarians support limiting the term of office of a member of parliament to 12 years.
