Matvienko called relations between Russia and Mexico friendly

OREANDA-NEWS Russian-Mexican relations are based on the traditions of long-term friendly cooperation, remain committed to the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests, said Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko.
The parliamentarian sent a telegram to the Chairman of the House of Senators of the General Congress of the United Mexican States, Ihinio Martinez Miranda, in which she congratulated the Mexican politician on his election to a high post.
"On behalf of the Federation Council and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on your election to the post of Chairman of the House of Senators of the General Congress of the United Mexican States... Russian-Mexican relations are based on the traditions of long-term friendly cooperation, and remain steadfast in their commitment to the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests," Matvienko said.
According to her, effective working contacts have been established between the legislators of Russia and Mexico.
"The Federation Council is interested in further strengthening parliamentary cooperation in a bilateral format, as well as within international organizations. I am confident that this work will contribute to the active promotion of new joint projects and initiatives, the coordination of positions on key issues on the global agenda, and the expansion of the geography of partnership between the regions of our countries," the telegram says.
Matvienko expressed confidence that the knowledge, professionalism and political experience of Ihinio Martinez Miranda will contribute to the further prosperity, dynamic and sustainable development of Mexico, and the improvement of the well-being of its citizens.
"I take this opportunity to congratulate you on the upcoming national holiday, Independence Day of the United Mexican States, and wish you and your colleagues success in your responsible work for the benefit of the people of Mexico," the senator concluded.
