OREANDA-NEWS Polish security forces have launched a special operation on the border with the Kaliningrad region under the pretext of allegedly threatening sabotage. This was stated by the chief commandant of the country's police Marek Boron, RIA Novosti reports.
"A special operation headquarters has been set up at the Main Police Commandant's Office, which is being conducted in the Warmian-Masurian and Podlaskie Voivodeship by police forces in cooperation with the Armed Forces, Border Guards and special services (...). These measures are preventive against the background of risks in the border area," he said.
Boron mentioned as a pretext for the special operation some received reports about alleged provocations and sabotage, but he did not provide any evidence of his words.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski tried to accuse Russia of involvement in the political crisis in the republic.
On October 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow does not threaten Europe and does not seek to find reasons to start a war with it.
Putin also called the talks in the European Union about the beginning of preparations for war with Russia schizophrenia.
