OREANDA-NEWS Poland shot down cheap unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with missiles worth 400 thousand euros each. This is reported by Bild.

According to the newspaper, Poland managed to shoot down 3 drones out of an alleged 25, and the fourth drone probably fell by itself. The UAV was shot down by two F-35 fighters with AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles. At the same time, the price of the drone is only a few thousand euros, while the price of the rocket is ten times more. Accordingly, the North Atlantic Alliance is already considering other options for countering drones.

"In the long term, using the F-35 against drones makes no military sense," the newspaper quoted a senior NATO officer as saying.

In addition, Bild clarified that Germany currently does not have sufficient resources to effectively combat drones flying at low altitudes.

Earlier, the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh, said that Sweden had decided to urgently send aircraft and air defense systems to Poland. This happened after Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk spoke about the violation of the country's airspace by drones.
