OREANDA-NEWS The International Arctic Forum "The Arctic - the Territory of Dialogue" will be held from April 11 to 13, 2022 in St. Petersburg with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The event will discuss issues of economic and cultural development of the region, including increasing transportation along the Northern Sea Route and creating conditions for a comfortable life for the local population.

The forum program will be divided into five conditional blocks. At the seminar "Economic Development", participants will discuss ways and conditions of attracting financing for the Arctic region, as well as "green" energy, subsoil use and digitalization.

The block "Comfortable conditions for life in the Arctic" will raise issues of the development of northern cities, taking into account tourism, sports and medicine. The participants will pay special attention to the indigenous peoples of the Arctic and the preservation of their culture.

At the forum, participants will consider ways to develop the Northern Sea Route, which can become a global trade corridor between Europe and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. These issues will be included in the block "Logistics development in the Arctic".

The seminar "Ecology and Climate in the Arctic" will include discussions on climate change in the Arctic region and the preservation of the diversity of flora and fauna. Safe infrastructure, methods of lifting dangerous and radioactive objects from the bottom of the sea will also be included in the pool of questions.

The Science and Education block will touch upon the research that has already been conducted in the Arctic, and will also consider ways to attract new minds to the Far North. Forum participants will be interested in forecasts for the development of industry and science in the Arctic.
