"The phone conversation lasted exactly an hour, was constructive and very frank," he told reporters.

According to him, both leaders positively assessed the results of the visits of representatives of the head of the White House, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Moscow and Kiev. Putin gave an objective and thorough analysis of what is happening in the area of the SVR, and also assured his colleague that Moscow has no aggressive plans towards Europe.

According to Ushakov, joint work will continue, including on humanitarian issues, and the parties agreed to stay in touch. At the same time, the American president spoke about the need to end the conflict from a perspective of restoring relations. Putin supported Trump's commitment to a constructive partnership between Russia and the United States.

On Saturday, he received Witkoff and Kushner at the Kremlin. The conversation lasted three hours and ten minutes. This was the eighth visit of Washington's representatives to Russia. According to Ushakov, the head of state gave them clear and comprehensive assessments of the situation on earth, and they promised to be guided by them in their dialogue with Kiev.

The next day, they arrived in the Ukrainian capital. As reported in the Kremlin, Putin ordered the strikes on Kiev to be stopped for three days in order to prepare and conduct these contacts. The negotiations took place in two rounds, with the national security advisers of Great Britain, Germany and France joining them in the second.
