OREANDA-NEWS   Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a conversation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Garstere, refused to compromise on the Donbass issue. This is reported by Reuters, citing a source.

"The source said that Putin told Stubb and Stera that Russia would not compromise on its goal of taking control of the entire Donbas," the publication claims.

According to the source, prior to this call, French President Emmanuel Macron was the last European leader to speak with Vladimir Putin on the phone. The conversation took place in July 2026 and has not been made public.

Earlier, Stere, commenting on a telephone conversation with Putin, stated the need to maintain good relations with neighbors.
