OREANDA-NEWS Specialists of Il JSC (part of the Rostec United Aircraft Corporation) have completed tests of the IL-114-300 aircraft in Uzbekistan in extreme heat conditions, the test results will allow to expand the type certificate obtained, Rostec reported.
"Specialists of Il JSC of the United Aircraft Corporation (part of Rostec) have completed tests of the IL-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft in Uzbekistan at extremely high temperatures. The results will be transmitted to the aviation authorities and will allow the type certificate to be expanded," the report says.
An experienced flight arrived in Zhukovsky from Bukhara, where the operability of the aircraft's systems was checked at outdoor temperatures on the ground up to +42 °C. In total, the IL-114-300 spent over 30 hours in the sky, and five aborted takeoffs were performed, including on specially prepared brakes that mimic the extremely worn condition of the brake discs.
"
"The aircraft is equipped with domestic engines, avionics and a digital flight and navigation system, which have once again proved that they are not afraid of extreme cold or heat. The data from the tests in Bukhara, along with the test results at extremely low temperatures in Yakutia, will be transferred to the Russian Aviation Registry for study, verification and further modification of the type certificate," Rostec noted.
"High temperature testing is an important part of the work on extending the IL-114-300 type certificate. The results obtained will confirm the possibility of operating the aircraft in a wider range of climatic conditions," said Gennady Abramenkov, Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, his words are quoted in a press release.
