OREANDA-NEWS  The use of national currencies in trade between Turkey and Russia can help solve problems with bank transfers, but this process requires detailed study, a Turkish source told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Turkey told RIA Novosti that Western indiscriminate sanctions complicate bank settlements between the two countries, and Moscow and Ankara are in constant contact to find solutions. According to a source from the Turkish authorities, the country's state-owned banks have not yet received instructions from the Turkish central bank to resolve problems with settlements with Russia, while payments under government projects continue.

"Various options are being considered to solve this problem, caused, as you know, by Western sanctions. The use of national currencies in settlements has been repeatedly raised at the leadership level, and instructions have been given to study this process. Part of the trade is already conducted in national currencies, but in any case, the issue requires further detailed study," said the agency interlocutor.
