OREANDA-NEWS There are reasonable things in the new peace plan of US President Donald Trump, if the information about it is true, said Vladimir Dzhabarov, deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs. He shared his assessment with Lenta.ru".

Earlier, Ukrainian journalists published details of Trump's new peace plan. According to their information, Kiev could be offered to withdraw its Armed Forces from Donbass and the Zaporizhia region and secure a neutral and non-aligned status for the country. Also, according to the press, Ukraine should introduce into the Constitution a ban on forceful methods of changing the status of Russian territories, hold elections and sign a peace treaty with ratification at the United Nations (UN).

The senator questioned the accuracy of the information, but admitted that it could have been proposals that the US Special Envoy for Peace, Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, could have brought to Kiev from Moscow.

"There are reasonable things there. The only thing that bothers me is the issue of the Kherson region. She should also be released. This is our constitutional territory. Nevertheless, I think that if the main requirements are actually met: the neutral status of Ukraine and security for Russia are ensured, then it means that we can sit down at the negotiating table and discuss it in detail," the speaker said.

Earlier, US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner visited Moscow and Kiev. Witkoff called the negotiations very meaningful.
