OREANDA-NEWS  From July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026, Russian citizens planning to visit Myanmar for tourist or business purposes will be allowed visa-free entry for up to 30 days, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

At the same time, Russian citizens may be denied entry by decision of the immigration service or the competent authorities.

"The period of stay of citizens staying in the country for business purposes may be extended by decision of the Ministry of Industry in accordance with the procedure established by immigration legislation. In this case, the citizen must personally contact the Ministry of Immigration and Population, paying the appropriate fees. For persons entering for tourist purposes, the allowed period of stay is limited to 30 days without the possibility of extension. In case of violation of the visa regime, punitive measures will be applied against Russians," the ministry explains.

The Foreign Ministry notes that in Myanmar, citizens are prohibited from visiting restricted access areas.

Departure from Myanmar is carried out exclusively through the international airports of Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw.
