OREANDA-NEWS   In April, Russians will be able to observe an unusual phenomenon called the "pink" moon. This was stated by Sergey Bogachev, head of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy and Heliophysical Instrumentation at the Department of Space Plasma Physics at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with RT.

According to the expert, every full moon has a slang name. A pink moon is a full moon in April, during which the Earth's satellite briefly appears pinkish. The name was also influenced by the fact that pink moss blooms in eastern North America at this time. The pink moon occurs once a year, and this time it will be visible on April 2.

Bogachev added that on May 31 it will also be possible to observe the blue moon. "This is when there is a second full moon in one month. This is quite rare," the expert noted.

Earlier, Russians were able to see the small parade of planets, which took place at the end of February.
