OREANDA-NEWS  Sberbank announced an updated version of the GigaCode 2.0 AI assistant at the GigaConf conference. According to Andrey Belevtsev, Senior Vice President of the bank, the system now generates up to 40 prompts per second and supports 35 programming languages. The quality of generated code according to the international LiveCodeBench standard has improved from 28 percent to 65 percent.

"Our AI assistant has already successfully proven itself in the previous version. On average, it takes 2 million lines of code per month, which is comparable to creating a large automated system. Now we have improved it significantly. GigaCode 2.0 provides businesses with a tool that will not only accelerate software development, but also reduce the time it takes to bring products to market. By optimizing processes and improving code quality, organizations can minimize resource costs and focus on creating truly innovative solutions," said Belevtsev.

GigaCode 2.0 is based on an ensemble of models, including GigaChat and specialized code models, which are further trained on updated datasets. The system demonstrates particular effectiveness when working with large codebases, offering more meaningful and applicable solutions. Supported languages include Python, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, and C++, which makes the tool universal for various IT projects.

The GigaCode plugin has been installed more than 45,000 times on the GitVerse code platform, and about 25,000 active users use it monthly. The tool is used not only by developers, but also by specialists in other roles, including DevOps, system analysts, QA engineers, and data engineers. For example, PlantUML support allows system analysts to generate charts, which expands the scope of GigaCode.
