OREANDA-NEWS South Korea will maintain its support for Ukraine, despite the heated dispute between Kiev and Seoul over the disclosure of information about the transfer of prisoners to the DPRK. This is reported by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) newspaper.
"According to [the representative of the South Korean Foreign Ministry], Seoul will consider its assistance to Ukraine separately from this dispute, while continuing bilateral consultations to resolve unresolved issues," the publication notes.
This fall, a scandal broke out between South Korea and Ukraine. On October 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea announced the recall of its Ambassador Park Ki-chan from Kiev after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly spoke about the secret transfer of soldiers captured in the Kursk region. South Korean President Lee Jae-myung demanded an apology and accused the Ukrainian side of inciting war on the Korean Peninsula.
