OREANDA-NEWS  Switzerland will not discuss with Russia the development of a new strategy for relations between the two countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Pierre-Alain Elchinger told RIA Novosti. "The strategy is based on the interests and priorities of Switzerland. There are no plans to involve other states in this work," he said.

Elchinger added that the Federal Council may adopt a new strategy in the second half of 2023. On February 1, the Swiss Foreign Ministry published a report on foreign policy for 2022, which stated that the country would reconsider its relations with Moscow in 2023 in the next foreign policy strategy.

The Russian Embassy in Bern confirmed to RIA Novosti that no discussions on this matter were held by the Swiss side.
Bern has joined almost all European sanctions against Moscow since February 24, 2022.
