OREANDA-NEWS  Tens of thousands of Chinese residents were evacuated due to the powerful typhoon Narra, which became the 19th in a row in 2026. This was reported by the Central Television of the country.

According to the source, the authorities of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China evacuated 54,000 residents in the urban districts of Fangchenggang and Chongzo due to large-scale floods caused by the typhoon. It is specified that at 15 stations installed on 10 rivers, the water level exceeded critical levels. Floods were also experienced in the provinces of Guangdong and Hainan.

At the moment, work is underway in the region to combat flooding, and all victims are receiving the necessary assistance.

In early August, more than a million people were evacuated in China due to the strong typhoon Dolphin. According to the National Meteorological Administration of the country, the wind speed near the center of the cyclone at the time of its landfall was more than 150 kilometers per hour.
