"Build your trading strategy for the current and possibly next season based on the assumption that deepwater ports will remain closed. Companies should prepare for the worst—case scenarios," the agency quotes an excerpt from the document.
At the same time, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy, only about half of the required cargo volume can be exported through the Danube ports and by rail. As noted, transportation on these routes costs up to $ 50 per ton more, and their capacity is significantly lower.
At the end of August, the newspaper Monde wrote that the work of the major Black Sea ports in the country was paralyzed. A month earlier, Taras Vysotsky, the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, reported that ships had stopped entering them by decision of their owners.
As noted by the Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik, the enemy uses the sea route as a round-the-clock channel for the delivery of weapons. In three years, about eight thousand ships with military cargo passed through the ports of Odessa, which explains the attacks of the Russian Armed Forces on these targets.
