OREANDA-NEWS  The Arbitration Court of the Moscow District postponed to November 23 the consideration of the cassation appeal of the Belgian Euroclear Bank for the recovery of about $ 105 million from it in favor of Sberbank, follows from the materials reviewed by RIA Novosti.

This lawsuit claims to recover damages in the amount of income blocked by the defendant due to anti-Russian sanctions on derivative financial instruments owned by the plaintiff and accounted for in the accounts of two Russian depositories at Euroclear Bank – JSC St. Petersburg Settlement and Depository Center and JSC NC National Settlement Depository (NSD).

In particular, we are talking about warrants issued by issuers Citi, Natixis, notes linked to the value of the underlying assets of the issuer UBS AG, and notes linked to shares of the issuer Societe Generale. According to the plaintiff's lawyer in the court of first instance, even before Sberbank and depositories were included in the sanctions lists, the defendant blocked income payments on these instruments.
