OREANDA-NEWS The crew of the foreign ship Beks Force, burning off the coast of Nakhodka, Primorsky Krai, consists of Indian citizens. This was told to RIA Novosti by the chairman of the Far Eastern Regional Organization of the Russian Professional Union of Seafarers (RPSM) Nikolay Sukhanov.

He clarified that the fire occurred in the engine room of the bulk carrier. According to him, 23 Indians were present on the ship at the time of the incident.

"The vessel is covered by the collective agreement of the International Federation of Transport Workers. Two victims were taken away by helicopter," Sukhanov said.

The specialist stressed that the crew of the foreign cargo ship is insured, so the treatment will be paid for. In addition, cost recovery is provided.

Prior to that, representatives of the Primorsky Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that the crew members of Beks Force refused to evacuate.

The incident off the coast of Nakhodka became known on Friday, June 16. Passing vessels were sent to the disaster area.
