The main buyer of Russian grain is named

OREANDA-NEWS In the current agricultural year (starting on July 1), Iran became the main buyer of Russian grain as of September 8, with 913.7 thousand tons shipped to it. This is reported by Interfax with reference to the data of the company "ProSerno".
The Islamic Republic received the most Russian corn — 498.1 thousand tons. Exports of barley amounted to 292.5 thousand tons, and wheat — 123.1 thousand.
Egypt remained in second place among importers with a result of 846.8 thousand tons. This is followed by Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and Sudan.
Earlier, Elena Tyurina, director of the analytical department of the Russian Grain Union (RZU), said that over the year the number of countries buying Russian wheat had almost tripled, from 43 to 16. According to her, in August, wheat exports fell 3.8 times, barley — three times, and cereals and legumes in general — 3.5 times.
The main reason for this trend remains difficulties in exporting grain abroad due to problems with shipping in the Azov-Black Sea basin.
