OREANDA-NEWS The implementation of large infrastructure projects in the Arctic creates a steady demand for qualified personnel, which is already in short supply: the shortage of specialists "is measured in hundreds, and in the near future — in thousands," Rector of the Northeastern Federal University named after M. K. Ammosov (NEFU) Anatoly Nikolaev told RIA Novosti.
As the expert explained, the Transarctic Transport Corridor (a unified transport and logistics system connecting the Baltic Sea with the Far East via the Northern Sea Route) is actively developing as a large economic zone: large facilities such as the port of Naiba are being built here, and they need specialists with higher education in a wide variety of fields.
