OREANDA-NEWS  A powerful earthquake was recorded in the Philippines, its magnitude was 5.6. This was reported on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

Aftershocks occurred on the island of Mindanao on Wednesday, April 16, at 05:42 a.m. local time (00:42 GMT), experts shared information. They also reported that the epicenter of the earthquake lay at a depth of 31 kilometers, 107 kilometers southwest of the large city of Koronadal with a population of more than 195,000 people.

An earthquake of similar magnitude was felt by residents of Afghanistan today. It was recorded at 03:44 local time (02:14 Moscow time) 167 kilometers east of the city of Baghlan, in the area of the Hindu Kush mountain range.
