OREANDA-NEWS  President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev conveyed greetings to Russian Leader Vladimir Putin through Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu, who is in Astana on an official visit. This is reported by TASS.

"I consider it absolutely important to publicly convey greetings to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. We will hold additional meetings during my visit to Moscow," the Kazakh leader said.

Tokayev also gave a positive assessment of the state of relations between the two countries and expressed confidence that cooperation between Moscow and Astana will only develop.

Shoigu arrived in Kazakhstan on February 11. It was noted that during the talks the parties would discuss challenges and threats to international and regional security, the situation in the Central Asian region, as well as in Syria and Afghanistan.
