OREANDA-NEWS  In the west of Iran, two strong earthquakes have occurred in the province of Khuzestan. This was announced by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The first 4.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded at 21:48 Moscow time at a distance of 73 kilometers from the city of Khorrambad. The hearth was located at a depth of 10 kilometers. A few minutes later, a second earthquake was reported, with a magnitude of 5.3. No casualties or damage were reported.

Earlier in February, a powerful earthquake was recorded in the Alaska region. Its magnitude was 5.8. The epicenter of the seismological event was located 154 kilometers south-west of the city of Akhiok, which is located on the island of Kodiak. The source was located at a depth of 9.1 kilometers.
