OREANDA-NEWS  Two Russians and a Ukrainian may face long-term imprisonment in Japan for transporting 113 kilograms of banned substances, Russian Vice Consul in Niigata Alexey Krivoruchko told RIA Novosti.

"In September, a cargo of equipment from Mexico arrived at one of the customs points of Japan, in which the police found 113 kilograms of prohibited substances. Presumably, methamphetamine in crystals. Initially, three Russians and one Ukrainian were detained. Then one of the Russians was released without charge. For Japan, this is a serious crime, they may face imprisonment for a very long time. The Ukrainian is in Japan with refugee status," the diplomat said.

He noted that the representative of the consulate visited Russian citizens, made sure that they do not have health problems, a lawyer works with them. "We will continue to provide them with all the necessary support," the Vice consul stressed.
