OREANDA-NEWS UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres may launch an arbitration procedure if the policy of not issuing US visas to diplomats does not change dramatically. This was stated by the first deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky, RIA "Novosti" reports.

On February 9, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, conveyed to Guterres a message from Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov demanding that arbitration proceedings be initiated against the United States due to their non-fulfillment of visa obligations.

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia's deputy permanent representative to the UN, also said in an interview with RIA Novosti that the United States must come to terms with the fact that the world is changing, and Washington is no longer the only global place of power.

Earlier, RIA "Novosti" reported that the official representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric declared Russia's right to membership in the Security Council. So he appreciated the words of the permanent representative of Ukraine to the organization Sergey Kislitsa, who questioned Russia's right to membership in the Security Council.

Also, on February 8, the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) Antonio Guterres expressed confidence in the impossibility of war in Ukraine. This was announced by his official representative Stefan Dujarric, RIA "Novosti" reports.
