OREANDA-NEWS. A meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Ukraine will be held on Tuesday, April 19, TASS reports, citing a source in the world organization. According to her, since February 24, 1982 civilians have died in Ukraine, 2651 have been injured. At the same time, the United Nations believes that the actual figures are much higher.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, the source said.

Earlier, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees reported that 4.8 million people have left the country since the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine. According to the department, the number of refugees continues to increase every day. According to the world organization, most Ukrainians were accepted in Europe. The leading position was taken by Poland - 2.7 million Ukrainians, followed by Romania - 726 thousand refugees, Hungary - 447 thousand, Moldova - 419 thousand, Slovakia - 329 thousand. Russia accepted almost half a million Ukrainians - 484,000 refugees.

Meanwhile, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the special military operation of Russia in Ukraine is proceeding in accordance with the plan, and the negotiation process continues. So the Kremlin representative answered the journalists' question about Moscow's reaction to recent statements by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky regarding negotiations with Moscow.
