OREANDA-NEWS. The U.S. Ground Forces purchased a batch of the latest Patriot Advanced Capability 3 Missile Segment Enhancement (PAC-3 MSE) anti-aircraft guided missiles worth more than $ 6 billion for Patriot air defense systems. This was reported by the press service of the American company Lockheed Martin, which produces these missiles.

"The United States Army and Lockheed Martin signed an agreement to supply PAC-3 MSE missiles, modernization kits for launchers and the necessary equipment and services. This equipment is intended for both the US military and foreign customers", Lockheed Martin said, without specifying the number missiles, intended for delivery.

These weapons will be delivered in the years 2021-2023 (October 1, 2020 - September 30, 2023). The total contract value will be $ 6.07 billion. According to the press service, to fulfill the aforementioned order, Lockheed Martin expands its production facilities at an enterprise in Camden (Arkansas), where PAC-3 MSE missiles are assembled.

Ten countries have signed contracts for the purchase of PAC-3 MSE missiles for Patriot systems, including the United States, Qatar, Japan, Romania, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Korea, Bahrain and Germany.
