OREANDA-NEWS  Abrau-Durso Group, a leading producer of sparkling wines in Russia, is investing about $4 million in the production of low-alcohol beverages in India. To do this, the group recently created a joint venture, Pavel Titov, President of the Group of Companies, told Interfax.

"We plan to actively work in the fast-growing Indian market. We will work with local partners to improve the existing production facilities near New Delhi. Abrau-Durso owns 51% of the shares in the created joint venture, investments will amount to about $4 million," he said.

According to Titov, the main product of the future production will be low-alcohol carbonated drinks in the ready-to-drink format, both in cans and bottles. "The main goal for the first phase of the project is to reach 6 million liters per year by 2026," he said.

Abrau-Durso expands its portfolio with quiet wines, vodka and other beverages. In 2022, the company sold more than 54.1 million bottles of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products, which is 18.1% more than in 2021.
