OREANDA-NEWS  In September 2025, cash withdrawal will be restricted in Russia. For some Russians, it will be impossible to withdraw more than 50,000 rubles per day, according to NSN.

The restrictions introduced by the amendments to Federal Law No. 41-FZ are aimed at protecting the rights of customers and preventing fraud with bank cards. If the withdrawal of cash is somehow different from the usual behavior of the customer (an atypical amount, frequency, or place of withdrawal, for example, at night or in another city), the bank may limit card transactions for 48 hours.

The blocking of cash withdrawal through an ATM will be partial and temporary. The restriction will be in effect for 48 hours from the moment of the withdrawal attempt. Additional restrictions will appear for certain groups of the population: fraud victims entered into the Central Bank's database will not be able to withdraw more than 100,000 rubles per month.
