OREANDA-NEWS  Starting from June 10, the Moscow Exchange will begin calculating and publishing the index of the Moscow Exchange of PFI Bitcoin, the trading platform reported.

The index code is MOEXBTC.

To calculate the bitcoin index, data on the prices of perpetual futures and swaps for the BTCUSDT pair from the four largest crypto exchanges will be used: Binance, Bybit, OKX and Bitget.

The index will be calculated as a weighted average of prices, taking into account the weighting coefficients of the selected trading platforms. The weighting coefficients of the crypto exchanges are calculated based on the trading volumes of the monitored instruments and will be reviewed quarterly.

In the future, the indicator can be used as a base asset for financial instruments, the report says.

The frequency of the index calculation is once a day at 12:30 Moscow time.

Earlier in June, Mosbirzha launched trading in a settlement futures contract for shares of the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF investment fund, which follows the price of bitcoin. The tool is available only to qualified investors.
