OREANDA-NEWS   Rosatom commented on the protest of workers at the Akkuyu NPP construction site in Turkey due to unpaid wages for several months. This is reported by RBC with reference to the press service of the state corporation.

Rosatom explained the situation by blocking funds and the actions of unfriendly countries. It is noted that we are talking about states that compete with Russian nuclear industry projects.

According to the press service, the contractors promised to organize meetings of workers with the management of the subcontractor to resolve the situation. The state corporation also noted that, together with the Turkish side, work is underway on possible solutions and "an early return of the situation to a constructive course."

Earlier it was reported that negotiations are currently underway with potential buyers of Rosatom's 49 percent stake in the Akkuyu NPP project. The possibility of such a sale is provided for by the relevant intergovernmental agreement.
